Congratulations with this milestone, Grant. That's here the age when you're considered to be 'adult'.
Judging from the pictures, it was a great party.
Regards, Peter
Congratulations, Grant! I'm sure you're proud of everything you and your team have accomplished!
Thank you Peter and Paul. I’m definitely very proud of the guys especially my partner Bronwyn who is the driving force behind the company. Cheers Grant

Congratulations on 21 years Grant! Looks like a nice group of happy people. Love the photos, it nice to see into other aspects of our lives besides just model making.
Thanks Daniel. It’s always nice to see some milestones of us ship builders other than wood and tiny brass thingings etc.:D
I love when small-ish companies have a big to do like this.
Turning 21 is worth a little celebration. 190 of our clients came over the course of the afternoon and evening. It was really cool to have them all celebrating with my team.
Cheers Grant

You have a unique landscape there! I was lucky enough to spend a considerable amount of time there during the 2010 World Cup. We liked capetown very much!
Good evening Eric. That was quite time for us in South Africa to host such an event as the World Cup. I cant believe that was 15 years ago. I was at the Semi-Final when you guys beat Uruguay 3-2 if I remember correctly. Cheers Grant

Good afternoon.

My company turned 21 on Thursday so we celebrated this milestone with our clients. There were plenty sore heads on Friday.Sick.

Our wonderful mountain
First, Congratulations on turning 21!! Providing employment for your people and management of facilities is a noble endeavor!!! Keep it up!

Second, I love your view of Tabletop Mountain...one of our bucket list stops.

I have a friend further North, who promised a wonderful safari. If we ever pull the trigger, I'll let you know.

Cheers,
Brad

Good morning, Grant,

21 years? Where did they go? The clown you're talking about can't be older than 35! ROTF You really do have young employees! I'm sure they're a great team. Enjoy the success and here's to the next 21 years. Anyone who can build so well and is definitely a great boss, see the clown, has done everything right! By the way, your ship, I love it!:DThumbsup

Good morning Brad. Thank you for this. We have over 1000 staff employed on our sites and in SA a job is highly valued . If you guys ever come to CTN it will be lovely to meet you and have you over. Cheers Grant

Looks like a great event, and boy am I envious of that weather. Cool, not cold, and raining here in Kent U.K.
Good morning Richard. Thank you. Yea we were lucky. The day before was 32 degrees and would have a tad too hot. Cape Town in Autumn and spring can be beautiful if the wind doesn't blow. Cheers Grant

Good morning. I decided to scratch build (the kit only provides hand pumps) some chain pump housing. My plan is to have one covered and one open. I will attempt to 3D design and print the wheel and chain in the one housing.
I don’t have much cherry wood to play with so they are made from scraps hence some unusual wood joins.Redface.

Hmmmmm ! I clearly cannot convert inches to mm as these are too small.. Redo time again. My modelling is failing me at present ROTF. OH well let’s see what attempt 2 will bring.
Cheers Grant
PS my wales are on hold until I source some wood to do the top and butt planking method as the wood in the kit is too narrow. Eish.

Good morning, Grant. For the best reference, it's best to place them on the model. That sometimes softens the judgment.;) I do like the fact that you are more and more build in scratch.
Regards, Peter

I also have a problem with cherry wood, so i buy a cherry wood handle scale set for knifemaking. Each cube costs about $5, and it's enough for a lot of work in modeling. You can match diffrent variants of colour, shape like cube, flat strip etc. and its ready to cut and super cheap.

Some dealers have 'pen blanks', which are smaller but often very nicely sawn and selected material.
