Good morning Daniel. Yep, the all the beams, carlings (except those around the stove chimney for which I have to some research), knees etc on this section of the deck are done. Some 220 grit sanding and sealing will come later.

Incredible details and craftmanship! I love that you show you minor discrepancies, like the scupper location, which NONE of us would ever notice! Proves you are human, like the rest of us.

I have to keep a keen eye out, as I get dropped from your log frequently and miss updates.

Eish! My struggles compounded with this fore deck beam installation. I change the kit a lot and this often causes knock on effects. Grants modelling is exposed .

Finished the stove, added extra hinges and levers. I attempted blackening but couldn’t get this right- used a metal spray paint in the end….

Help Brad, where ever your travels have taken you. Thank you for this. One of my favourite bands - The Parletones (a South African group) have a song “I’m only human after all”. Definitely applies to my attempts at building ships.

For ease of building and final sanding of the beams, I decided to cut the capstan in two. If I put the upper deck portion on it will look like this- I don’t like the kit base so I will change this much later.

The scupper holes I make from 2.5mm brass rod, flatten to make a bit of a flange. Blacken just once to keep in line with the look of the ship. I couldn’t bend this to the shape of waterway, however they look ok.

I took this pic to show my marvellous immaculate perfect alignment….. I can live with the multiple little inconsistencies however the arrow shows my middle grating and corresponding deck planks being a problem child . I can’t believe I haven’t noticed this - I hardly see this with the naked eye- Eish a redo coming up..
