Excellent ideaYeah! Ask it to do a 'cathead'.![]()
That was my favorite too!I particularly enjoy the ropes coming out of the guns.
I have had more success with an agent - this refers only to the sources I give it. Fewer hallucinations and very specific references given, so I can check. What strikes me most about AI (or at least ChatGPT) is how easily you can manipulate it to give you any answer you want. I've been using it to research the armament of the Harriet Lane in 1857, and although it has uncovered some interesting research (letters between the Secretary of the Treasury Howell Cobb and her first captain, John Faunce discussing her armament, currently at Emory University), any attempt to ask it to reconstruct her guns is laughable. It's the old computer programming saying "garbage in... garbage out."
And the other half is, as thick as two planks!Just remember that by definition that half the population's IQ's are "below average."

And the average is already way below average! And the other half are as thick as two planks!![]()

, Fig 83) or Wolfram zu Mondfeld (Historic Ship Models, page 295), the staymouse is a long, elegant, pear-shaped taper. It is never a flat, squat disc.Personally, I don't care for these proportions at all. I think it results in a much longer, skinnier mouse than has historically been used, is visually skinny (or un-fed) and the extra length serves no purpose. If we apply this corrected "Modeller's Proportion" to the Victory Main Stay (1:100):
This results in a perfect, historically realistic pear shape where the body is beautifully tapered and long enough to securely seat the leather-lined stay collar.
- Stay Diameter: D=1.54 mm
- Mouse Max Diameter: 3D=4.61 mm
- Corrected Body Length (Equal to Max Dia): 3D=4.61 mm (instead of C/3 =1.61)
- Tail Length (pointing): C = 4.83 mm
- Total Length: C + 3D = 9.44 mm (instead of 6.44 mm)

Would it be better if it had bare breasts?Still looks creepy.
With that face? Definitely no!Would it be better if it had bare breasts?![]()

I am guessing you are referring to the copy at https://maritime.org/doc/steel/ ? If you read the first page, they explain that there are mistakes and why. There are also a few mistakes in the Sim Comfort copies of Steel's The Elements and Practice of Naval Architecture in the scantling section. These are classic, extremely useful sources for any ship modeler interested in the details but even so, we need to be vigilant. Why did Steel write this?
Well you use the ropes going thru the cannon barrel openings!silly question here. Looking at that picture, how is the boat lowered using those ropes?![]()
Oh, it definitely will help us becoming Absolutely Idiotic, and so proud to be that smart.Saying AI is here to help, is like Reagan and his saying beware when you hear "I am from the government, and I am here to help you"!
Had not heard that line in many years. Love it! Thanks for posting!!Reagan and his saying beware when you hear "I am from the government, and I am here to help you"!
