HMS Sovereign of the Seas - Bashing DeAgostini Beyond Believable Boundaries

Hey Kurt, just checking in on you. I commend your efforts to learn the software and create hundreds of printable ornaments. Then the printing and painting will be very time consuming. But in the end your ship will be a real visual treat. But I think you enjoy the journey, which is important! ;)
Hi Dean! I'm still slowly plodding toward printing the decorations. Thumbsup

Let me know if you need a tutorial on Chitubox slicer software. Once you get the settings right…it’s pretty straight forward. And part orientation for supports is important. There are settings specific to the type resin you use, like curing time between layers, etc. I like using the water based resin, you use water to cleanup parts instead of alcohol and it prints excellent. Anyway, give me a shout when the time comes! ;)

I'm getting there! And, YES I will need help with getting the printer up and running and doing some test prints. You're on my teachers list! The resin i have requires alcohol for cleaning. I have gray and yellow resin. However, because all the decorations will be gold, I should have bought black resin. I'm thinking you may be able to walk me through the process over the phone or zoom chat when the time comes. We could talk shop! :D

You bet! Give me a call and we can FaceTime.

The King's portal was made, loosely based on the Morgan drawing of HMS Sovereign of the Seas, and this one took a lot of work, especially the clean-up after boolean union functions leave a mess of internal polygons behind...when they work. Several of the features were different because of the limitations from the online free assets available. The Payne engraving does not show the portal on the port side, and no one knows why. It was probably an oversight, since all other sources show the portal. Thanks to the Morgan drawing, my model will now feature bonus boobs.

Wow! That’s nice! You’re really good at this Kurt.

Čas strávený pri PC bol určite značný, ale výsledok je viac než fascinujúci. Gratulujem.
Mám jedno malé pozorovanie: prsia sa zdajú byť trochu ochabnuté, čo sa týka proporcií. Bolo to zámerné?

No. The model just came out that way. Want me to make them more perky? (Watch this thread topic go WAY off on a tangent, guys..)
