PRINTZ FRIDERICH (1761 - 1780) - danish 70-gun Ship of the Line - 1:48 by Karl I. Malcha

What can I say, to this MASTERPIECE- it's like a Michelangelo. Even more, as I build the sistership Norske Love som 40 Years ago - the Stone Age- I am and has been following this Master Work- would like to have a copy of many the images. BRAVO, BRAVO. DO YOU HAVE KARLS address in Flensburg. I was born in Jutland, just on the other side of
the border.

According to drawings by F.M. Krabbe(masterbuilder of those, sister ships) the bow of the model was taken from "Norske Loeve" and ornamentation of stern from "Printz Friderich". I'm trying to do the same mix, but in diffrent scale(1:75) ;p

Interesting project - I guess Karl Ingwer can help with advise if necessary.
Would be great to see your research and construction of the model in your building log of the model

As You wish Uwe. Kindest regards.
Konrad

PS. I can't find the drawings construction of the masts, rigging etc. of those ships :(

Hallo,
I see we all are busy in the sos-forum at the same time!
Yes, the three sister ships are made from the same drawings, but there are some alterations in the inside design: Printz Friderich has obviously only one powderroom in the rear, Norske Loeve has two, the second (smaller) at the front. There are some more differences as the draughts of building nr.28 (Printz Fr. 1760) and nr. 35 (Norske Loeve,1764/65) indicate. It's especially the iconographic program that individualizes the tree sisters: Pr.Fr. a lot of virtues; No.Loe. scandinavian flora & fauna and professions; Dronning Caroline Mathilde the happiness of family life and fortuna.
Printz Fr.s figurehead symbolizes the european spirit I think: roman antiquity (dress), christianity (model of a church) and science (pair of compasses).
