I had to use some mesh on the sides of the box that enclosed the electric motor on my steam launch,

This is what I used, it is metal mesh container that is used for holding pencils pens etc on a desk, I used tin snips to cut the pieces from it, hope this helps,

I think the glass is Micro and the black decor was done with women nylon - like the "fishnet"
It is a guess - never tried it:
Uwe, as much as I like the discussion about fishnet (women nylon), is it possible to post the top of those photos. Without the top portion, it looks incomplete... ;)
