A few random pics 1/200 Titanic kit.

Looks like another winner from Trumpeter!! You should have a lot of fun building that kit. I could be wrong, but I don't think the rivet detail should be that large, even at 1:200 scale. RMS Titanic is a huge ship and any hull rivet details would be nearly invisible from a normal view distance. Just my thoughts... I haven't actually done the math.

Maybe - but if they did not include any rivets at all, then the ship hull would be boring and would not have any detail and texture at all. Besides, some might notice this, but I personally do not think it is all that important. If I were building it, I probably would think it is a nice detail even though it (could be) out of scale. JMHO.
But, then again, who knows what all I have built that is not actually to scale and ruined it by definition.

The rivets could be knocked down a touch with a sanding I suppose. Most kits I've seen lack the exact engineering details that one might see (or not see) on the real subject. The cost of such a kit would be well beyond the wallets of most of us. I've already heard from those that say the 1/200 line from Trumpeter pushes the limits of their hobby funds for plastic.

I can't wait to get started. It's nice to get the kit early, not so nice waiting for the aftermarket sets!
Lots of work you can do while waiting for the details sets and aftermarket products... maybe waiting a while with the issue in China right now! Think you can finish the hull and most the first deck before any additional PE required. I am waiting for the simulated wood veneer decking mostly but if I recall from other pontos decks the fit seamlessly around everything on the decks nicely
Just a thought no sense waiting!

Hallo @DrKellog ,

Hope you had already the chance to start this amazing kit? Would be great to see this model in a building log

Have not started the build yet except for cutting sprue nubs from the bottom of the hull. Thank you very much for the Birthday greetings! Also have the 1/200 HMS Hood to start as well. Thinking of selling the Titanic kit. Too many kits waiting on the shelf.
