Hello everyone!

This is gonna be my first post here. I'm working on 3 distinct builds right now and the HMS Victory is one of them. I'll try posting my advancements but bear with me, my AuDHD sometimes makes it hard for me to post things or anwser. I'll do my best

Hello K,
A warm welcome to our forum.
So far I'm impressed and can't wait to see more.
Welcome! Looks great so far!

Thank you!

I've some experience, but it's hard for me to complete a build, not because I lost interest, but because another one takes it ;)

I think I'm working 5 kits in different stages of completion rigth now. This one feels different because of all the things going on while building the interior. There is so much to do that it keep my interest up on this kit (or maybe it's that I dont like just planking hulls and decks).

Things are going great. Locked in place the remaining walls. Decided to finish the barrels. Linseed oil for the big ones and a darker stain for the small ones. Put the weights on the bottom and prepare all the columns.

Today just a size comparison between some of my work or work in progress...

VS USS Independence 1/35 by Artesania Latina

VS Le Superbe 1/75 by Mantua

VS HMS Bellona 1/48 by CAF

Beginning to fill the hull.

Everything's ready. I'm just bad at making things permanent. That and my task paralysis

This is looking very high quality. I like the finished you chose.
This build will definitely keep you on your toes. I chose it due to the complexities. A lot of small parts. Keeping the ribs aligned all the way up and making sure the masts fit after each level are key. I built the Amerigo Vespucci by Manuta and thought that was the most complex build but this kit is above that for sure.
I get the ADHD thing. Working on the sub builds keeps the focus on.

Enjoy the build.

Looking great. I remember when I started the hood section and I accidentally didn’t glue a barrel in place enough and it ended up covering the opening for the mizzenmast mast. Oops

Beautiful work! Congrats! I’m about to start applying tint! I was wondering which color you would recommend!

Clear. I used two things for the hold.
Golden pecan or a golden oak stain works well. I used amber shellac for the final coat. I used the amber shellac on all the decking above as well but not the stain.
Shake shellac well and apply one or two light coats. It can be streaky for some reason I never figured out.
You May want to try it on scrap wood that is from the same sheet as the decking.
