Advice Required

I treat the brass or copper object in diluted selenium acid (1:10 SA/Water) at last twice. Rubbing each time with a soft coth piece till the coating is smooth after required darkening you can also apply a rigid varnish which protects the coating

How do you suggest using the Brass Black, to avoid the brittle patina please? I would like a permanent patina, one that would not be altered during handling of the parts.
believe I’ll need all the help I can get so all advice gratefully received!

Actually, it depends on what country you are from as if you say "me" or "my"

my" as "me," which is common also in Ireland, Scotland, Northern and Western England, and some dialects in Australia.
