Here is my methodology: I wiped a thin layer of wood glue on one of the joining surfaces - laid a piece of the tissue paper on that surface and gently smoothed it down with an old credit card with a smoothed off edge - let that dry. Next I wiped a thin layer of wood glue on the other joining surface and firmly clamped the parts together - and allowed that to dry. I found that the tissue paper did weaken the joint but not enough to matter. Do a trial using this approach and see if that would work for you. I’m not the only one to represent tar soaked flannel in this way. The only downside is it surely makes a mess.

BTW are the parts the same for the 1:48 and 1:96 versions of the kit.

My admiral told me that the problem with male humans is that we stop maturing mentally at the same time we stop maturing physically, to say, about 18 years of age. She went on to say that our toys just get bigger and more expensive. I have yet to find anyone disagree with what she said, me included.

It was so worth it. :p

She said she hated that car. But, anytime we went somewhere, she wanted to take it and not hers. ;)
 
This is so far off track, sorry guys, but it is fun....... OK, not a car I owned, and many years ago, but it was MY car for 5 days training in Formula Fords at the Mont Tremblant F1 course. There were nine of us in the class. To avoid issues with the admiral, she also was in the class in her own car (the white car in the background was her ride) and did quite well.
