Ahoy, Shipmates, I'm looking for thoughts on what the best kit is of the 'GH'. I've looked at the 3 available:- OcCre at 1:85 643mm long X 450 H;
Dusek at 1:72 500 L x 460 H ; Mamoli at 1:53 495 L x 478 H. All have different numbers of gun ports, & the scale size variations make no sense, eg; how come the biggest @ 1:53 is the smallest lengthways, but the tallest? Question-Mark :( All replies much appreciated, thanks.

I think the best kit is the golden hind kit of occre... the only problem is that the plans are not detailed enough. but this is not an insurmountable problem, there are many masters who can help here...

Thanks Kaya, I have a part built Mamoli kit, which I'm not happy with, but my main quandary is over the finished dimensions not corresponding with the scales. I haven't researched the records, if they exist, listing the prototype dimensions.

OcCre Golden Hind was by first build (as a grown up). It was fairly easy apart from some fiddly brass sheet ladders (Make your own from wood) and brass sheet stanchions. Nobody knows the actual dimensions or armament of the original ship so just choose on the basis of cost or manufacturer preference.
With OcCre you have the option of adding the included pre-stitched sails.

I visited the site but could only find a brief history of the ship but could not find any scales or plans.
