No ,you are no pirate, you can have a peace of mind ,you just got defected from the Cartel
Yes, I’m not a pirate never having bought a pirates kit or endorsed a pirate kit company, but KIR has branded me one and banned me, so I have nothing to lose in consorting with others of you similarly branded as pirates. so AAARRRRrrrrrr!!!!! Pirate FlagShip-1ROTF

No worries ,just keep going and enjoy the hobby ,some dogs just barking up on the wrong tree :D

Question: What is the best TYPE of sander? I.e. disk, oscillating spindle, belt or ????

It will be used primarily for modeling so small is better than large due to limited storage space when it's not in use. The first big job it will be used for is sanding the char off the many rib parts on my newly acquired Druid kit.

I am very close to ordering a Byrnes but wanted to put this question out first in case there might be a better suited option.

Love that avatar, I have one of the same too!
Yes and to the question: PROXXON disk sander and PROXXON pen sander, and love them both!

I got one of these awhile back for char sanding ribs on POF. Best little sander I ever bought for ship work. I see they are way down on price ( china flooded the market and are now dropping price.$40 and they were as high as $100. ** make sure to get one with 1.2 inch-30mm wide belt *** Just had another look and it doesn't come with power supply so you will need a 12volt power supply also ( probably the price difference)

I have a Ryobi, a belt sander, sanding blocks and dowels, and plane old sand paper. I often use Dremel for char and working on small pieces. And then there’s always the diamond file and the Admiral’s Emory board for fingernails. I use them all for different things. The most used are the least expensive. Dremel and sanding blocks.

Hello, I'm a Korean modeler. I am only providing information because I am not good at English. It's a Chinese electric plane, and I don't think there's anything better than this for modeling.Helical blades are quiet and precise. The disadvantage is that it is heavy and expensive ^^

Agreed! Maybe all of us “pirates” should use the same avatar as a badge of honor and show those tyrants we aren’t going to just roll over when they mistreat us.

logic

if we are all pirates by association then NRG members that are here and all MSW members that are here are also pirates which makes the NRG a group of pirates by association. Keep it Real are known IP theft pirates for ripping off posts from forums without permission and they are partners with the NRG it looks like everyone are pirates

which by the way has nothing to do with sanders. i have a 4 and 6 inch disk sander i got from my local Home Depot i also make different size small disk sanders from plastic bottle tops.

It's quite uncomfortable because I can't speak English. They copied the link in their own way, but I'm not sure if it'll work.

It's $990 at the exchange rate is correct.

if i were asked if anything i post can be used someplace else like facebook i would say sure spreading the hobby and information is the goal here.
but to rip off posts from any forum without permission of the writer and forum owner and using it is pure and simple IP theft which the crusaders of IP theft and piracy like the NRG and their partner Keep it Real take part in IP theft all the time. By default the defenders of theft are thieves themselves, so what are the real motives?

Blogs posts are copyrighted by default. The #1 rule to remember is that, by default, posts to a blog (or to a discussion forum, for that matter) are copyrighted material, and the author owns the copyright. Just because it's "public" doesn't mean it's "public domain". That means that it is subject to all the restrictions on copyrighted work, i.e., it can't be freely copied and used even with proper credit without either a) the permission of the author or b) within the context of "fair use". The owners of the site, e.g., Ecademy, may also have rights to use it as part of the user agreement, but no one else does.

this really should be the last post concerning this issue but it does happen and we know it. So if the rest of the administrative team feel this should be removed do so. But it does have to be said and said out loud. We are victims of IP theft.
