Scale 1/10 - length 84cm - wingspan 80cm

The Blériot XI or Blériot Type XI is a light monoplane, built between 1909 and 1931, by the French aeronautical manufacturer Blériot Aéronautique, Louis Blériot (1872-1936).
It is one of the first functional series aircraft in the history of aviation, sold in hundreds of copies, in four categories: training, tourism, competition, and military.

Louis Blériot enters the legend of the aeronautics for having made with the 25 of July of 1909 the first crossing of the Channel by traversing 38 km in 37 minutes with the average speed of 61.6 km / h.

Two questions
- what did you made to get this very realistic colour of the wood ..... f,e, the propeller ?
- Did you pimp this model, or is it out of the box? Your model is an advertisement for the Amati kit!

For wood, a simple dye medium oak color. No varnish to keep the wood matte.
For the engine, and all the parts "steel", a double spray paint steel and darker type Gun. And an aging with a bitumen of Judea passage (a type of tar).
For the propeller, same shade as the wooden frame and a very light bitumen of Judea.

Overall, it's the kit out of the box. Except the interfacing wings and fin for which I used Solartex antique heat shrinkable. More simple and older yellow.

The blue cylinder (made of 0.5x3 slats around wooden circles) was a rubber float with brass valves, and attached to the fuselage by 3 leather straps. Not crazy Blériot, he could not swim and crossed the Channel all the same, had to predict the incident and the wet fall ...

















 












The wings are prepared to receive a layer of pearl white, after a veil of matt white to cover the yellow a little strong Solartex. It is still missing the rear wheel (I'm waiting for the spokes to redo it ...).

WOW this is super Nice Brother I have a deep love for aircraft I cant explain I just love them and I always have. this was a nice kit I would have had to build this and use the plans to build one for 4ch RC flight right after. A lot of older plane designs fly RC surprising well. Build it super light it will fly at a slow speed.
 
This model has an extreme realistic appearance - this slight weathering is looking great - many thanks for sharing this built
