boat for the deck of my endeavour

From what I have seen build logs and photos in books, may ships boats were overlapping board style, I think they call it Clinker or something as such.

I have read for small light duty boats is was quicker and easier to build then edge to edge used on bigger ships.

Your build of ships build looks very well done! A keeper as the fisherman would say.

it was a solid hull and i carved the planks in , wasn't 100% sure it would work so i ordered the caf deck boat , but i think that it came out nice so i'm going to use it and have a spare deck boat . thank you for the kind words

Yes Kkonrath, you are correct - it is called "clinker" planking. It yields a strong hull with minimum amount of work. After all - it worked out very well for the Vikings ...lol

I had the privilege of sailing on the replica Endeavour about 15 years ago. They carried a RIB !!!
