Hello, this is Unicorn model from China, I’m now bringing you the new 1:48 aft midship cross-section of Bonhomme Richard 1779.
The old Bonhomme Richard cross section kit has been launched for many years, although there are some upgrades and improvements, and a few modelers have made wonderful works, but after all, it is an early design, the old kit has errors and deficiencies in many aspects. As conditions improved, the idea of redesigning Richard's cross-section gradually emerged, and then further developed into the idea of dividing the whole ship into four sections (bow, fore midship, aft midship and stern). first of all, to redevelop the longer kit (aft midship) on the basis of the old cross section, compared with the old kit, the new one has a leap forward in all aspects. The following will be a series of build logs for this kit.
The new kit consists of a base kit + casks upgrade package (Loading half the amount of cargo holds) + masts upgrade package (not yet completed).
Scale: 1/48
Size (excluding mast and cradle stand)
Length: 286mm
Width: 246mm
Height: 224mm

Very observant,,,,,, good catch!Guns' bores, expecially those of 8 pounders, are as far too large as on the old version.
Yeah. That's a great, accurate and innovative kit under many respects. Unicorn Models did an oustanding job on the hollow mast and its jig.The jig concept for mast making that you posted is great to see.

Haha, you have a great eye!Guns' bores, expecially those of 8 pounders, are as far too large as on the old version. Other than that, what an amazing kit!
I'm afraid it is not going to occupy either my needs or my wants list.

I said I'd be the first and I delivered on that promise. Hopefully the first anyway.
