Hallo Johnny,
Wonderful model you are showing us here........ very good work
We are not limiting the size of photos here in our forum, so you are free to show your progress photos also in full size photos.......

The three parts model of another modeler you mentioned in the text, is (I am pretty sure) the models built by our member Karl, alias @Jeronimo
I understand you, that these models can inspire you and you can easily be infected by the virus "Bonhomme Richard".......

Many Thanks, that you started the building log - it will be interesting

nice job :)
have a look at www.amarsenal.be - check membres & modèles - Alain Wernimont.
He built the Duc de Duras some 15 years ago - quite good pictures included.
All the best - patrick
Many Thanks for this hint - I know this amazing model, which was built by a real master
Here is the direct link to the model:

It is often helping very much to see on other models, how a modeler solved a problem or interpreted a special detail in the drawings

Hallo Johnny, alias @js747a ,
we wish you all the BEST and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Enjoy your special day
Birthday-Cake

Alles Gute zum Runden Geburtstag

This is an excellent presentation, many thanks. What are those openings for? Look likes the hole covers can regulate the opening size, how those covers can be operated underwater?

I think that the opening is only to use when the schip is in a dry dock.

Nur wenn das Schiff in einem Trocken Dock liegt kann man da dran denk ich.
It seems, that these are the endings of the normal pumps - where the punmp cascat are installed - than this openings are only accessable, when the outer planking is removed.
The detail of the plans Karl is showing is from the 74-gun ship monograph (I think)
