I am a little be anxiuous when I saw beautiful works and ship : wich one will be the next build for me ? too much choice and not enough time and money !
Thank you sir. I have not built enough kits to give a fair recommendation ( only 3 including this one) but artesanias older elite series ships seem to be quite detailed and would recommend them if you can get a hold of them.I am a little be anxiuous when I saw beautiful works and ship : wich one will be the next build for me ? too much choice and not enough time and money !
Agree, I am in the building of the Belem and have the Bounty on the shelve.
I have always wondered if they provide enough planks to completely plank the hull.Agree, I am in the building of the Belem and have the Bounty on the shelve.
For the bounty i meanI have always wondered if they provide enough planks to completely plank the hull.
Good morning. Looking very good.Hi all.
the channels have been fitted as well as the larger deadeyes(i am busy with the smaller ones). I messed up with the channels in the provided mohogany so i used some left over walnut. I also fitted some of the features on the front of the boat. The anchor davits were quite tricky as the instructions are blurry. The front railing has also been fitted.
regards.

Hallo @joocyHi all. This will be my first build log and will be of my 3rd model ship kit. I started this build back about a month ago and have only now thought to do a log. Not many photos have been taken up until this point. I will post the photos that I have up until today. I will then update you all as I go on to another step. Feel free to ask any questions or comments regarding the build, where I can improve etc…
Regards
Thank you very muchI likes your beautiful color contrast. Good job overall.
I appreciate the complimentHope my kit comes out half as nice as yours has.
Good morning. Lovely work she is looking good. Broken and lost kit parts are super frustrating. Especially here in SA where replacements are hard to come by. I would see if you can find same sized rings from a bead shop (Beads for Africa) and solder these back onto the main mast ring. Also check out Jix Hobbies (From Pretoria) on line they carry some AL parts. Cheers GrantHi all. Small update.
the bowsprit is done and work has started on the foremast. Alot of the metal pieces’ rings came broken as can be seen in one of the photos. I have thus far used the intact ones. Any ideas to fix or substitute are welcome. Ordinarily, i would just super glue the broken pieces but the broken off rings are nowhere to be found. Maybe i just have to insert extra eyebolts in the mast or is there a more elegant solution? All comments and suggestions are welcome.
kind regards
