DeAgostini Cisne Branco - a.k.a Occre Gorch Fock

Sim, nos fascículos que formam o Cisne Branco usaram a mesma peça do kit original (Gorch Fock). Porém o deck de popa do CB é uns 5cm maior em escala, por isso prolonguei. No deck de proa aconteceu parecido, mudaram a peça mas ela ficou curta demais uns 3cm. Se estiver montando ou reformando o seu recomendo que use os pdfs que mandei aqui para corrigir. Pelo visto terei que refazer todas as peças da quilha e das cavernas para conseguir deixar ajustado, as minhas peças não batem uma com a outra, parecem ser trocadas.

No this is very fine plywood, a three-ply variety of a very light variety, slightly heavier and harder then balsa.

A lot of fabrication this weekend. Completely new fore, mid and aft ccqbins were made with 3mm mdf. It was too much for my weak 6w laser, but with some additional cutting with the scapel and lots of sanding I got here in the end. Note how much smaller the boat deck is compared to the Original part. Another thing I was not satisfied with was the entire absence of deck curvature, so I experimented adding curved shims to the top of the formers. I think it improved the look a lot.

I have overlayed the side profile of the Damen foldar with the Keel parts. I believe addinf 1/8” plywood extensions and taper the sheeting to it will improve side view looks.

I have enlarged the aft sidewalls to cover stern deck extension using the excess material from the original diecut wood. I still need to fill the old hawsepipe and drill a new one further forward, as indicated:

I made the keel extensions described in the previous post, sanded the bow and stern to correct contour and started the sheeting guides ( thicker planks a little above waterline).

3mm Keel extensions in place- except for a slot where the extensions meet the bottom of the keel, both in bow and stern. A hardwood reinforment 5mm wide will be inserted at the stern slot and a 3mm piece at the bow. Besides matching side profile better, having a smaller width keel extensios allows for better tapering of the sheeting to the keel. Taper of shheting guide looks great both at bow and stern.

I have decided I can’t live with the forward mast position as it is. Will move about 23mm aft, bringing all deck fittis closer to the correct position. I belive this is why DeAgostini elected to shorten the forward deck to begin with, leaving the GF mast positions as designed by Occre. I am now making new base reinforcements and will leave the original one in place as it does not cause any issues, Then I will plug the original deck hole.
