This is just fair warning. I am building the Lotus Renault 97T from DeAgonstini. I have one Stage #28 that I have been waiting on for four (4) months. some of the shipments have double stages in the box. So, Now, I have 3 months of parts that I have in stock. Its part of the engine block - seems like I can not go forward until I get stage 28 Engine block as the rest of the parts seems to be contingent on this one frikken thing.

I chatted with them - no help - no sympathy - just when we get the items, they will be shipped to you.

Folks, I am not doing this again if I can help it.

This and the exorbitant cost are the two reasons why I won't ever do a subscription based model. I don't mind paying a lot for a good kit, but if 1/3rd of what you're paying is for the mail service and a 3 ring binder, well, I'll just pass.

How are you doing otherwise, Donnie?

I was a few hundred bucks into building the starship Enterprise, from that 'other' subscription company when they suddenly went belly-up. I never even received my most recent installment after paying for it and was constantly lied to every time I called to ask where my stuff was until my last attempt to call when the phone number was no longer in service. I'll never even think about doing a subscription build again!

My son had huge issues with missing parts, repeated parts and wrong parts sent on the R2D2. Eventually he was able to cancel after about half the steps had been sent, but he swears Never Again. My HMS Surprise a few years ago was mostly good, on the other hand.

Ya I have heard of others having trouble getting parts timely delivery
Some guys get fed up and then sell what they have…which seems a huge red flag to me
Give me the entire kit now, not a subscription fan at all

It's good to know that others have found this with DeAgostini. (I won't be purchasing anything from them most likely, in the future. I am not sure if it the tariff wars that is making it worse, but they've been quite unresponsive. I've got the Samba kit in several pieces, on my basement floor, waiting for the last 1 or 2 deliveries). On the other hand, I have had massive enjoyment with Agora models. On time, good service. I actually like subscriptions because it paces me, and allows me to work on other projects, but get a 'surprise party' every month or so to change up the scenery so to speak.

Having the same issue with my GT40 kit - already in for over $1500.00 and been waiting for over 6 months for a part needed before I can use half the parts they have sent. DO NOT buy from these guys.

Going into the 6th Month with no stages #28 - #33 My last shipment was in January 2025

It seems that there is really nothing I can do. I will say I never say never, because when I do, I wind up doing it again. But, I am convincing myself that I will never buy another DeAgostini again and have to go through this crap again.

There is no way I can believe that they are almost a half of a year claiming they are short of parts. This is unbelievable folks. So, with that said, , I am issuing a fair warning to our membership to take serious heed in doing business with this company.

I just went on the De Agostini webpage and looked at their forum. Seems there are many modellers missing parts from various builds.

Hey Donnie,

I'm really sorry for you. It's not great. But every now and then I was very happy with DeAgostini. This was 10 years ago though. It involved parts of the HMS Victory.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything will be fine.

Best regards
Günther Ship-1

... and I'd be willing to bet they are still selling these kits too, as though nothing is wrong. Not sure, haven't been to their website and not going there. That's what happened to 'me' with my Starship Enterprise from that 'other' company. Never again for me. I want the entire kit upfront, or nothing at all! I don't trust ANY of these sorts of builds!

If anyone is interested in a Starship Enterprise, uncompleted, due to a lack of manufacturer's performance and long broken promises... send me a PM. I'll sell you my kit, at its current state of completion, for what I financially have into it (plus shipping) ... and you'll receive a very fine kit that you'll likely never be able to finish due to a curious lack of needful parts being available... parts that 'should be available' but aren't. "What a DEAL!" "Don't wait!" "First come, first served!" "It's a real 'creampuff'... trust me!" (Seller not responsible for manufacturers bankruptcy, misrepresentation of contracts, Ponzi schemes, or any 'other' shady bullsh*t)! "Don't delay!" This offer won't last!" Purchase this fine piece of worthless cr*p before some 'other' sucker beats you to it!
