Does anyone have plans or an idea on making your own chop cutter for strip wood? I have seen many DIY tools on here that look like they would work great.

Thanks,

Jeff

I have one of those gillotine paper cutters in my shop. It’s great for cutting brass sheet up to about .015” thick. I use it all the time. It’s designed to cut with one side, a flat sheet laying on the table. When the object that your cutting gets narrower than about 2” it doesn’t work very well.

Are you saying that a 1/16 strip could not be cut with this?

Hi Jeff,

I think this is the sort of thing you are looking for, this one is on the pricy side but looks well made.

Cheers,
Stephen.
That's very similar to one sold on Aliexpress for about £40 - But check size, I have one that is a lot smaller than it looks in the ad. & only suitable for 1.5 mm thick stripwood.
I made my own version based on the NWSL Chopper.

Thanks for the pic. I thought about trying to use my small miter box with a razor knife, but I still do not look forward to cutting near 700 tiny pieces off of the strips.
