I found this on my desktop and it would be nice to know what ship the measurements are for just to give me a clue as to what I'm looking at. Does anyone know where I got it? It's named "Mastandriggingcalculations.jpg"

I have a copy of "Anatomy of the Victory". It looks like something out of that. There are many volumes on independent ships. Anything from Belladona, to the bounty. At the moment, I cannot remember the author. Surely someone here will.

authors name is John Mckay

If I remember, all of those are Ratios taken from a particular constant number. It could be that they are using the "Beam" 20 foot as the constant. Therefore, like the main gaff diameter diameter is 20 / 3 then that number is multiplied by 5/8. However, I come up with a different dimension than they do. So, there must be more to this. I come up with 4.19 inches diameter. However, don't take my word for it.

I have a book titled Historic Ship Models by Wolfram zu Mondfeld (Sterling, New York). It contains a huge amount of general data including charts showing mast and spar proportional dimensions for ships of several different navies, and excellent details of rigging. Good source book for those who want everything to be authentic - that is on the basis that the information is accurate.

Don't have Excel and for one or two uses I can't justify the cost.
use open source software LibreOffice, it is free.

Thank you, done:) I did a search some time back for something that would open Excel docs. I struck out. As is usual for me I probably put in the wrong search parameters.
