Egyptian Seagoing Ship “Byblos” - 1:32 [COMPLETED BUILD]

Congratulations for finishing this unusual masterpiece.
I have to be honest,
in the beginning of your log I was thinking .......
"OK, an egyptian ship.....let us see"
in between is was thinking
"upps ...... it is getting partly interesting......"
and after some more posts
"wow ..... it is really very interesting, what this columbian modeler is doing here"
and now
A highly interesting model and extremely well build -> Great Result my friend ThumbsupThumbsupThumbsup

I am looking forward to see your works on the diorama and the final presentation

Hello all......

I already brought the diorama Base......

The idea is to build a dry dock “simulation...... and in the back side I’ll build a “wall” simulating the Sahure King tomb (. Let’s remember that the “Byblos ship pictures were found in his tomb).....

Well...... I went to the “odonthology” method.... and using the PLASTER CASTING material I created the “wall”..... but first I took the drawing from Landstrom book, imported to Autocad and created a full picture with 25 cm long....

Then I put it over the “wall” and with carbon paper I reproduced the image over it.....

Created the “stones”.....

And started to carving all these “details”.....

For the “first” floor I decided to go after a Egyptian shipyard.......

this suppose to be the “original”

It was not found in the Sahure tomb. It was found in a Tomb named “The Mastaba of Ty”. Also from the fifth dynasty. I took the first picture imported it to Autocad scaled it and....boom....

With a carbon paper I copied it to Thais wall and starting the carving process.....

Once I finished (one week later..., or at least I thought I finished.... this is the result

Now thats Just some Awesome work both on the ship and the wall simply Stellar
Your dedication to continuing the theme and making the link between the carved stone and model is an excellent time warp experience that brings the model to life. Creative thinking and work on your part. PT-2

I always admire the work done by people that think outside the box (something hard for me to do) follow work done by modeller that do work so special that they are in a class apart. Look at Ekis medieval village, know one that builds plane with aluminum 1/12, 1/32, 1/48 scale and all the part work one that do scratch copper sub, and one that make small sailing ship with sea shell. Your work is out of the box unusual, original and so, so well done. A real joy to look at your work

Thank so much. I can see the reward of being patient (something I don’t have ). The “last push” is definitely coming from you all that following my log motivated me a lot

thanks

Here I am again.......

I just decided to add a couple of columns......

In the left one, I’ll go with King Sahure and his wife Meretnebery

And in the right one will have god RA (sun god) and god Anubis (tomb guardian).....
