French war-ship Saint-Philippe 1693 - scale 1/72 - from Lemineur monograph [COMPLETED BUILD]

An interesting error

I usually transfer the dimensions of the plans onto the model using a compass

By inattention, I noted the distance between the stays on the 1/96 plan, and directly reported
this measurement on the 1/72 model, that's explains the spacing of 36 mm instead of 48 mm

It was when removing the simulation about the spritsail yard that I noticed that it was too high

The best thing is that after making such a mistake, the look of the stays seemed strange to me

Conclusion : when you're in the moonlight, it's better to watch a stupid TV film than modelling :)

Comparison between the two ways of representing the fore main-brace :

Gréement Y.jpg

Gréement Z.jpg

The problem with the first one (apart from the anachronism) is that it's also
set on the topsail braces and the topgallant, which will be out of the reality

The classic representation is wrong with the single stay, more right for 1693
