Getting old sucks!

Looks like I’ll be out of commission for a while since I need a new shoulder joint. My existing rotator cuff and glenoid surface is shot and arthritic as well as multiple tears in the labrum, deltoid and bicep. So my surgeon recommended a “reverse shoulder arthroplasty” Which is going to screw up my golf game this summer! Oh well, the alternative is no golf ever again.

Surgery is this coming week so wish me luck!
All the best in surgery and recovery. Follow physio's instructions to a 'T' and don't rush the healing process nekminit you'll be right as rain.

When I was younger I spent a lot of money on wild women, alcohol and drugs. The rest I just kind of wasted.
lol in college my alcohol was mainly free of charge. had a friend in the dorm who had age issues. I had money issues... naturally a great meetin of the minds.

I never did the rent a cow options... much to cheap for that.

It is no good to complain as others have symptoms much worse than
yours might be, as we age , yes , body parts wear out , it is our
attitude that must stay strong as long as possible, shipmodeling
became my refuge , keeps the mind active ,always challenging ,
fortunately at 92 I can still do it but you must have the will , I
too have had many set backs with aging but life goes on and so
make the best of it. Wish you have successful surgery all the
best.

I'm at Day 10 post-op for knee replacement. My PT person and I have been working together for a few years, so he's got a pretty good sense of my capabilities and limits. Trust me that he goes right to the edge of the limits. I'm trying to balance PT rigorousness with avoiding opioids, so there are some periods of interrupted nighttime sleep that are annoying.
My shipyard is upstairs and my temporary recovery location is downstairs, so HMS Victory has been languishing, though due to no fault of its own. Happily SOS online keeps me in the loop.

I had an uncle who lost his right arm in a crane accident- up to his shoulder. He went to San Jose State, got his teaching credentials, and became a shop and drafting teacher- with only his left arm.
Taught drafting, woodworking and leatherwork.
Built his own bedroom set.... deck on the back of his house...
And did I mention- he also played a WICKED game of golf- with just his left arm? Had a few hole-in-ones in his lifetime!
He was most definitely NOT handicapped
So you might think about golfing with just one arm!
(If nothing else- miniature golf! lol)
Your uncle is an example to all of us, and puts perspective on our lesser challenges.
This is a story that would be encouraging and uplifting to all skills trade teachers. Check out HarborFreightToolsforSchools.org for stories about the people who do this important work.
