Buon giorno dall'Italia

Grazie a presto.

Greetings from Italy

I started building ship models from kits (Mamoli, Amati, Corel), and through participating in various forums I became increasingly interested in the history of shipbuilding.
I then started drawing my own plans for the models I was building, mainly small and medium-sized working boats and pleasure craft, all at the same scale, 1:66.
The models are built as fully planked, closed-hull models. I have now joined Ships of Scale, where I have already found some new ideas and inspiration for future projects.
I am still trying to understand how the forum is organized and how everything works. I don't speak English, so I will be writing in Italian and adding an English translation.Thank you, and see you soon!

Gian Paolo

Buonvenuto Gian Paolo. The translation is not a problem. When communicating with one of the finest ship modelers I have ever met, Tiziano Manardi, we always managed, even when we had a great lunch together in La Spezia. I see you are from Piacenza. I used to drive by there several times a month for many years when driving from Malpenza to Bologna and Firenze for business. Easy and fast ride on the A1! Please post some photos of your work when you have a chance.
Again, welcome aboard.
Allan

Buonvenuto Gian Paolo.

Jim

Welcome to the forum. It is a huge resource of knowledge and information, and also somewhere where your work is critiqued in a helpful and friendly way, always aiming to assist in our personal journeys from sticking kits together to making miniature versions of ships using miniature timbers and components in the same way as the full size ones were put together. (Maybe not for iron clads and passenger liners though)
Translations are simple nowadays thanks to Ms Google and her friends, so don't worry about that.
Jim

Hi Gian Paolo, welcome from Naples to SoS. You'll find plenty of help here. Frank
