Good information but I don't see inclusion of the mounted guns and how their rotating mounts would have been coordinated with the rowing functions of the "men at the sweeps" or is this not a correct connection? Rich (PT-2)

Donnie,

At the beginning of my build log is a list of the material and its use in the kit that I have. That will give you a better idea of where everything goes and allow you to decide what you want moving on.

The guns were 24 pounders, right Dave? No matter how well built I can’t imagine fitting 36 pounders on this small boat.
From some informative data I received a 36 pounder would have weighed around 5,500 lbs alone, not counting the shot and charges for each gun. Rich (PT-2)

All safety concerns aside, having a ship with one functional cannon would be a hoot at public display of static kits, even if it only popped out air when fired, no shot to cause damage.

Possibly it could be charged with some baking flour between the wad on top of the powder and held in place by another wad over that. Just adding to the smoke and flour shot into the air. :) But I have never done this . . . just heard it from another gun range member watching my shooting the cannon. Rich (PT-2)

Let’s try to stay on topic which is discussing the big picture of this vessel. Thanks.
