Have been working on sailors for my ships…

A bit more set up tomorrow morning and will try printing in the afternoon. Here is my set up.

Bought a cabinet last year on Facebook Marketplace for $10. Had a use for it and then went in another direction. When I started thinking about the 3D printer I decided I could use it for that with ventilation on top going out a window.

Station 1 - Elegoo Mars 4 resin printer


Station 2 - Elegoo Mercury XS cure and first wash station


Station 3 - Elegoo Mercury 2 final wash station


Overall cabinet with extraction/duct work located on top with exhaust out the window. System uses a 6” diameter Infinity exhaust fan with Infinity controller (can control up to 4 fans - plans to set up small acrylic paint booth adjacent to 3D printing station with another Infinity fan tied to integrated controls). Infinity controller has thermometer input that is set up in the printing station

First test print in the printer. Making a “rook”, standard test print for Elegoo. There is nothing fast about this process. I see why people might have multiple printers, this rook which is only 1.5” tall is taking the better part of 4 hours!

generally 1/64 and 1/48 figures for Confederacy, Victory and Winchelsea. Also, 1/30 scale for the Royal Caroline
 
King/queen in 1/30 scale. Also did a ships captain and a soldier at attention. I took all of them out of their structures and found some areas that will be a struggle for owners of the figures. Will king, queen, yacht captain and 2 armed guards at attention be enough?

This is amazing work, Herb! I am trying to understand your workflow. This note of yours seems to tell me you are starting with some sort of AI. Is that the case? If so, you are doing something amazing. How do you get from the 2D image to the 3D shape? I think I've missed something in your descriptions.

Thank you for the compliment. Until I get some painted I will hold my bows….lol. Yes, I use AI. I get a 2D image and put it into MESHY.AI from there i get a 3D image (sometimes the translation from one program to another you may end up with something that doesnt work, see the beer mug with some kind of rod coming out of the mug into his nose, its funny but a real Pain!, below). From MESHY I put it either into MESHMIXER or directly into LYCHEE or SATELITE. There is a learning curve like any software. Then I print them. The ones above were the first of that kind. I look for where the supports cause issues and see if I can reduce the number. I keep supports off the front of the figures the best I can.
