The USS Constitution had a crew of around 400+, and I was wondering...how many heads did she have, some were in the bowsprti so the sea would keep them reasonably clean, but for 400 men, how many and location? Just wondering, I don't know where that idea popped up from!

When I remember correctly, the HMS Victory with 800 seamen on board had 6 seats of ease for the normal crew - the officers had round houses or the quarter galleries at the stern
In addition they used often the chains if it was crowdy at the head
For pee they used often the big one......
