Want to say thanks for letting me join. I have been building models since I was about 5 years old. Cars at first then planes then warships and armor. Tried a San Francisco from Artisania Latina in the late nineties but didn’t get much past the first planking. I sold the kit later on. Just kept building 1/700 and 1/350 warships and 1/35 armor. Then I seen the Black Pearl from ZHL and had to buy it. Haven’t had enough nerve to start it. Then I bought a Midwest dinghy from an antique store. I then just bought the Model Expo dory kit. I’ve been having fun with it. Hope to do the kit justice.

Welcome abord! I think it is a great idea to practice on easier kits first. The Dory is ideal. They do have a promotion, not sure if it is still good that when you finish the Dory and send a picture of it with you they will give you full credit to your next ship.

I decided I wanted to eventually build my USS CONSTITUTION but needed to gain some skills and ship building knowledge to achieve that goal ! In doing so I bought the triple kit for model expo and started on the Dory!

Thanks Rob. Almost finished with the Dory. I’ll send a picture of it to Model Expo. Then I’ll have to decide what to get with the credit.
