Roger, I fish with downriggers here on the central Florida Gulf Coast. I troll for grouper and snapper and other species and I can get away with much lighter lures/baits than if I just used regular sinkers. You guys have some nice fish up there.

Another day of planking one side completed.

As I said earlier, he did an awesome job. When I get to it, my intent is to build it like he did his scratch build, without the remote-control ability, of course, but bashed to include the forward cockpit and other unique details not shown in the Model Shipways kit.
In the meantime, will be watching Grox here, as well as any of you others that get started before me. Thanks, gentlemen!
Planking completed on hull
While the wood filler on the hull dries I thought I would work on the 3D parts.
1. Take your time and be gentle. This is my first attempt removing parts from a resin sheet. I got impatient about halfway through and broke two pieces. F7 and F8.
2. Part F16 very tiny. I had to hunt for them
3. F17 belay pin I couldn’t find it. But I have plenty of spares.
4. I decided to create a wooden roller for the stern instead of the resin one.

Btw I was trimming some tag ends of one line and I accidentally cut one of the main shrouds (my depth perception up close is starting to go- old age dang it). Then as I was replacing it two wooden parts tore loose on the aft deck from me yanking around. Then another line mysteriously fell down. Dang!
But I managed to finish the repairs and continue rigging. Damn modeling

Nice work, Grex! I've been thinking about those small resin parts, as well, and am thinking I will probably make as many of my own small parts as I can, rather than using those 3D resin pieces. We'll see how that plan goes... <shrug>
BB, I'm thinking of the same thing watching Grex getting started on his. Except I have a long way to go (like forever?) before finishing my Constitution. So, I may have to start a dual build project.
Understood, I have had the same experience on occasion, sometimes when my wife is dusting my room things just happen. But I always take the blame, it was me that put the ship on the table I my room. LOL.

Watching wood filler dry…. decided to stain cabin and other parts so they’re dry when I start assembling. After looking at many colors I decided on “Gunstock #231” brown/red. I lightly sanded the sheets and pieces and brushed it own. Most of the wood took the stain well. A little darker than I expected but more original looking I think looking at colored pictures.

There is also a wooden steering wheel on the laser cut sheet.
Lots of sanding and touch up but I believe it’s time for some primer, that will show more defects 
Primer applied to hull and I fooled around with the steering wheel, I struggled trying to get it to look new so I settled for old and used look, for now. Also looking at the other colors needed.
The hull looks beautiful, smooth as a baby’s buns. And the wheel looks awesome: not only the colors but you can clearly see the lettering on the wheel rim. Looks great.
