Well the Covid has claimed another victum. My Job. Aug 26 was a normal Friday till I found out I was no longer employed. The "Admiral" as I discussed it and I just decided to retire. A couple years earlier than planned but it is what it is. The good news in I have lots of time for the building of my Ships.

The is the Hermione La Fayette. I have about a year of weekends into it to bring it to where you see it now. I hope to be able to post new pictures on a regular basis. I know how much help they are from the builds I follow. I doubt anyone will learn much from this noob but you never know.

I will attach my pics but if I do something wrong let me know as I am new to forums. You would think after 20 years of computer programming I would be all over forums but my work was very specialized. So I will learn as I go.

Let me apologize right off for not having more pictures between steps but I didn't think I would be posting anything or sharing any so I only took them when I thought about it.

Good, that you have more free time now - and also for us it is good, that you also have more time to build the model and share it here in our forum.
Many Thanks for starting this log Thumbsup

Sorry been a while since I posted. Here I thought being retired I would have more time to work on my ship. Now the Admiral had different ideas. But I think I have all her projects done and can get back to my ship. I have been working on it some. Mostly getting parts made and painted. Parts are very small and time consuming to shape and paint. I have the hooks in place for the deck cannons and the cannon built up. Next will be getting them set and tied down.

If I had known that retirement was so busy I would have tried to keep my job. But when I feel like relaxing and getting away from this change of normal I am working on my ship. I have all the cannons set now and finishing up on the hull. The straps for the rudder was missing and that caused some issues but I hand made them. Not quite as good as factory but will have to do. Still have a lot of work on the stern to finish before moving onto the mast and sails.

Again been a while since my last post but here is a couple of pictures of my progress. Ship is done and moved on to the rigging. Have learned a few tricks since my last two ships. So this rigging is going a bit faster. I have also started the HMS Victory by Constructo which may be my last. The parts are just to small for me to work with anymore. The La Fayette has been quite a challenge for me. 3.5 MM deadeyes. .15 MM line. But it is coming along. As I tire I move over to planking on the Victory.

This is looking very good
Hope to see also your Victory in a building log - would be very interesting to follow

Congratulations. Picure quality sometimes doesn't matter. It's what's in the picture that matters.
