I live at the foot of the Humber Bridge along the coast from Grimsby and across from Kingston upon Hull.
Was awed when I visited HMS Victory at Portsmouth as a young boy. When in Devon a few years later my parents told me we were looking at the Mayflower replica before it sailed for USA. It was only a few weeks ago I found this could not be true and we must be seeing Golden Hinde replica currently on the Thames. Did get to see Mayflower 2 about 25 years ago along with USS Constitution when we visited Boston, USA.
Have also toured the Australian Endeavour replica when it came to Hull again about 25 years ago. Saw HMS Trincomalee (second oldest warship afloat) in Hartlepool 3 or 4 years ago.
