Oh no, How long?
The shipping company often warns about this: due to covid restrictions parcels can be delayed.
Yes my friend - this is ship #2 in Oak.This was a tragic end of your journey Heinrich, and is that your second version of Willem Barentsz that is in quarentaine my friend???
Jan they did not say - the direct translation says "put aside". However, we know what that means. I would guess for at least 14 days.Oh no, How long?
Dear Hans - there is nothing that anyone could have done about that. Given the current state of things, I was half and half expecting something like this. The shipping company often warns about this: due to covid restrictions parcels can be delayed.
Luckily it has not occured at previous deliveries (all over the world) - this is the first time a package is quarantined.
Sorry Heinrich!
I think we’re all waiting to see the goodies Hans. Now you have to wait for all the goodies in the box…
I am very much looking forward to all the goodies in the box Hans - alas ... I have to accept what I cant change. At the moment, the government is not taking any chances. There is officially a zero-Covid tolerance law in place and whilst this may be an unattainable goal to most, the Chinese government believes otherwise - never mind at what cost though. Now you have to wait for all the goodies in the box…
Ron - even if I have to wait longer - I know that it will all be worthwhile. Believe me - that is indeed a special box (and then I don't even know half of it myself!)I think we’re all waiting to see the goodies Hans.![]()
I am very glad that you are up to date Stephan - I am getting closer and closer to your specialtyI'm up to date. Needed to read 23 pages to catch up![]()
Absolutely beautiful HeinrichWith the Admiral present and "large and in charge" - well, not large, as she is certainly ain't - (but you know what I mean), the serving of the port side deadeyes were done in no time. And this time, I was not even allowed to insert them into the ship.

In a nutshell, I could not be happier with the way that they turned out.
For the rest of the weekend I will spoil the admiral rotten and then next week (time permitting) I will start with the masts.
Thank you all so much for following, commenting, liking, consoling (when necessary), but above all, for the great support. Not in my wildest dreams could I have anticipated that this little ship would elicit such reaction! Thank you all for that!
I agree Mark. The empty deadeyes - especially the triangular ones do look sinister without the ropes. Thank you for the kind words - it is much appreciated!Absolutely beautiful Heinrich![]()
Deadeyes... Just the name itself is sinister...I agree Mark. The empty deadeyes - especially the triangular ones do look sinister without the ropes. Thank you for the kind words - it is much appreciated!
Yes, you should spoil her, the two of you have made the deadeyes beautifull on your Willem Barentsz. I can't wait to see your masts, ( and your new goodies )For the rest of the weekend I will spoil the admiral rotten and then next week (time permitting) I will start with the masts.
Are you two able to get out and about or pretty much confined? Best wishes for spoiling the Admiral. For the rest of the weekend I will spoil the admiral rotten and then next week (time permitting) I will start with the masts.
