How is about the work on the Alert?
 
It's a great kit, not wood or plastic so take care, the paper and card
stock are not as robust!, it helps to read ahead on the directions...what ever you do, keep cat and dogs away! When you are finished it will look like a wooden model!
The blocks, tackles, et al are glued together to obtain thickness, and will sometimes come apart so be careful with rigging tension.

The Trident Alert kit is CNC milled wood

You are referring to the cardboard kit produced by "Shipyard" - the model described here in this topic is a different one completely made out of wood - also as Plank On Frame, so with visible frame construction - taste for dogs and cats, correct, but definitely not out of paper and card
