Great visually instruction of all the steps, Dirk. A nice addition to the manual. I will definitely use your log when I start my own. Before starting the gundeck, the cabins had to be build. Don't mix the front and back panels like I didExactly follow the instructions and it will be flawlessly ...

Now the gundeck. Having had quite a few problems with the lower deck when it came to combining CA glue with precise positioning, I tried the following with the gun deck: I positioned the two sandwich deck sections precisely, then joined them with masking tape so that I only had to fold one section over after applying the superglue in liquid form. That worked quite well

The deck was then wetted and placed on the bending jig, where it was left to dry thoroughly overnight, after which it had the desired deck camber.

Same for the spcial beams.

At first, I was confused by the deck beams because I hadn’t read the instructions properly and so missed the fact that there were far more beams. But Unicorn Model came to my rescue straight away, so I was able to correct my mistake before I’d made a mess of things.
I also fitted the hatch coamings and the base plate for the capstan. Ahead of the instructions, I’ve already fitted part J4 (mainmast partner). This was necessary so that I could build the entire pump right down to the bilge from scratch, and check where any beams might need to be removed to allow the pump to pass completely through both decks. The kit is only designed to show the two ends of the pump on the gun deck. That needs to be changed. Will be fun ...

I’m still thinking about the best way to build the pump room. The design is a bit unusual and everything is very small.

First impressions of the deck in the hull. I think the lasered patterns are really brilliant. Very delicate and rich in detail. There’s still a bit of work to do on the deck itself. I won’t be removing all the laser char, but some more needs to go. Then it can be oiled, and as soon as the pump room is finished, the pumps have been built and everything fits, it’ll be glued together. So it’ll take a little while yet

I built a jig so that I can better fit the deck in the hull and adjust under the gunports.

And last but not least some more images how it will look soon.

So nice!
I so want to buy one of these but I'm scared that my giant fumbly fingers would flick all the pieces into the middle of next week.
