Thank you Gunther. Your encouragement is always appreciated. It is good to hear you enjoyed your time in Singapore and now we start 2026. May it be an awesome one. Cheers GrantHey Grant,
Happy New Year 2026 to you and your loved ones! Thank you for sharing your family photos. I really enjoyed them! I was on holiday in Singapore, so I didn't get to look at SoS much over the holidays.
But what I see now is really great. You've done a lot of work on the ship. It looks fantastic. As you know, I'm a big fan of your build report!
Best regards,
Günther

A little bit of progress on the starboard planking around the gunports.

Thank you Jeff. I wish I could get my cutting skills like some of the other guys where every angle fits exactly. I end up sanding and trimming too much…..Ahhh one day. Ashtyn and Micheal say thank you.Sometimes, the ship models have to wait.Beautiful pictures ! Congratulations to the Bride and Groom !!!
And as always, your work is top notch !
True story Peter. It was a special day and I managed to get through my speech without crying….a few stops to gather myself was required tho.You have to divide your time, Grant. And you took your best time at that lovely wedding to speech.
Regards, Peter
Thanks Heinrich. I did show the comments to Arlene and Ashtyn. Ash says thank you very much.Stunning photographs of the wedding, young man! A big congratulations to you and Arlene and please tell Ashtyn that she looked radiant and beaming on her wedding day. ("Lovely", just doesn't cut it!)
Good morning Brad. Yep, it was a very proud day for Alene and I. We are very happy to give our “baby” away to Michael- Luckily for usWonderful pictures!
Those perfect cannon ports and awesome planking, pale in comparison to the pictures of the loving couple and her proud parents!!
Thanks for sharing and glad the wedding was such a success.

True story Paul. I’ve looked forward to the day when I could walk Ashtyn down the aisle and it did not disappoint. Ashtyn and Michael did not want the “traditional “ wedding and it was brilliant- from the position of the biased parentCongratulations on the wedding 'win'! It is a special day when a dad gives his daughter away. It looks like a great event with a beautiful couple!

Thank you kindly ChristianCongratulations Grant. Really nice pictures of the wedding.
Ashtyn and Michael say thank you very much.Best wishes to the newlyweds, with an event like this, everything else can wait
Thank you Peter. Totally agree with you. The blessing of family is something blessed and to be appreciated while we can. Thank you for the compliment. The old Grant cannot express himself too much with this model…..hmmm maybe it is timeCongratulations with this beautiful wedding Grant. What a bless it is, family!! The model is awsome....Miss the "old" Grant a bit. This is top notch work my friend!
nothing like "een boer maak n plan"

Good morning Gunther. Now you know why I sneaked in my gunports with the wedding pics- great diversionHey Grant,
That's just unfair. How am I supposed to comment on your construction progress when you post such lovely family photos? OK, I'll just keep it short: W
– Wonderful bride
– Sweet couple
– Great dad...
And of course, as always, what you're building looks stunning!!![]()
. Thank you for your kind words - certainly appreciated. Thanks Stephan. He prefers the beach and likes to yap at the bigger dogs which see him as breakfastCongratulations Grant, Lovely bride. Looks like a great day. And don't forget to take your grandson out for a walk in the park.
. It was a very good day.Good afternoon Chuck. Thanks for your compliments. I’m at that stage where so much finishing is needed but I’m just not keen for the little by little edging and sanding at present- I will get there tho. I wish I could be more precise with cutting and preparing each little plank….maybe one day I will be able to build like some of the guys here. Hmmm in a galaxy far far awayGrant! The word that came to mind looking at your ship is "crisp." Your precision work is lovely to behold.
Wonderful wedding pictures! You have a beautiful family and one can only hope your new son-in-law passed the Kattner test
Many blessings!

. My test is easy- you be good to my little girl and I will be good to you…..if not the African bush veld is a vast place never to be found
.
