Hey Grant,

that speaks for a retread! Then you're in the shipyard too!
New knee ? So wear and tear or accident? Welcome to the club, I also have a right knee replacement and it was a very good decision as I could barely walk!!!

I wish you a speedy recovery and that you get back on your feet quickly.

Best regards
Günther
Thanks Gunther. I have had plenty wear and Tear over the year, but a injury was the final push.
Hey Grant !
I hope you can get back up on your feet real soon ! I had a friend that had a knee replaced and he was in his 70s. It was amazing how quick they had him walking and how well it worked!

I love your idea of leaving small areas of the planking off to show bits of the internal structure! That spot around the gunport looks terrific and shows off a part of the structure of the ship that is not often seen by non-builders !

Wishing you a speedy recovery !

Jeff
Good evening Jeff. They had me walking the next morning. Everything went well so I’m looking forward getting back to normal. I had to do something with the model, so I’m giving it my best shot. Hopefully it turns out reasonably well.
I wish you a good and prosperous recovery of you knee, Grant. And your finger …….
And about your ‘kit bashing’: no problem at all for me. Now it’s becoming a unique example.
Regards, Peter
Thanks Peter. I am a little injury prone. Feeling a little pain this evening…..
Grant, prayers for a speedy recovery.
Thank you very much
Speedy recovery Grant. A hospital is never fun, your smile must be the drugs they gave you. Alien
Absolutely ROTF

HI Grant! Great to see you wearing a brand new deeply bashed and upgraded part... . Your Enterprize's is coming along nicely. Love the way you are presenting that gunport! Cheers!
Good evening Albert. Let’s hope the upgrade doesn’t need a redoROTF. Thank you. I have a picture in my mind of what I hope will turn into something nice….always a little dangerous. Cheers Grant
Replacing your knee just because you cut your finger sounds like an overreach to me. Insurance fraud is a serious crime - you should report this.
Classic PaulROTFROTFROTF. I won’t tell if you don’t.
Grant,

I hope the doctors were as accurate and painstakingly careful in the rebuild of you knee as you have been with this kit! If so, you'll be up and walking in a few days.

Your pictures and work are wonderful! The scarf joints look superb. The curve of the planking and the open spaces will make a stunning presentation! Love the way you did that cannon port, so the structure can be clearly observed!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful work and praying for a speedy recovery (we were all worried when we saw you in a hospital bed, that somehow the finger had major complications). Glad it was a planned surgery!
Good evening Brad. Thank you very much for this.
True story!

The Admiral has had both of hers replaced. 44 years on the floor teaching kindergarten will do that to a person.

Do all the exercises they give you and you'll be good as new in no time. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery! Beer
Thanks Russ. Everything went really well and it is a pretty common operation now days so generally things go smoothly. Feeling it a bit now… Cheers Grant

Dear Grant
wish you a speedy & full recovery
The Enterprise looks beautiful
Thank you and thank you Shota
Smiling now, huh? Just wait till that nerve blocker clocks out, then the real party begins! Wishing you a swift recovery, and may your new knee be as sturdy as a double-planked hull. Just don’t try climbing the rigging too soon, you’ll knock over your workbench! ROTF
Very much a true story. Those blockers are gone and now I’m feeling a tad “goofed”.
Speedy recovery to you sir.
Thank you kindly
I wish you a speedy recovery Grant. The Enterprise looks fantastic. I hope you will be able to continue your building soon. Keep smiling..
Thank you Herman.

Well, with a bit of luck you could be sitting on your bicycle within six weeks time. In the meantime, sterkte.

You're a typical male though; not following build instructions and see how far you get without them.
To be fair: been there, seen that, done that...
That's the nice thing about scratch building, no boring building instructions to read nor to follow.

Maybe that is why none of the manufacturers make decent instructions.... Because they figure we won't follow them anyway ! ROTF

Ok the only pic of my knee but I am on drugs so I have an excuse ROTF .

My Doc is as skilled as many of us and got my cut neat and tidy.

Hey Grant,
that's a tough scar...I wish you all the best. The important thing is to get back on your feet. Here in Germany, we go to rehabilitation treatment after a knee operation like that. That means that you are made to walk again. It was a tough 3 weeks for me. But I was glad that I did it. I haven't had any problems since then.
Greetings
Günther Ship-1

Good evening Johan. Thank you - let’s hope it all goes well. True story re the kit plans and the typical male” - I’ve yet to stick with a kit’s instructions so I think the problem lies with me ROTF. I 100% agree with you about scratch building.
Cheers Grant

Ouch! Wow Grant, I was thinking I haven't heard from your build in a while so just looked in and man o man! How do you expect to get anything done when you almost cut your finger off then have a knee replaced?? ROTF. Hey, prayers for a speedy recovery my friend, so far, your ship is looking just fine, I'm looking forward to seeing your ideas for its presentation take shape.

Thank you Daniel. The knee replacement was a long time coming but I’m glad I finally did it. I have had a fun time in hospital (leaving this morning) and the staff here were so much fun-we laughed so much. They do tell me the honeymoon is over and now comes the hard work to recovery. Cheers Grant

Hello Grant, what are you up to……. just when things were going well you leave me due to a knee injury, joking aside, try not to rush the healing process but rather focus on careful and precise rehabilitation which is essential. Wishing you a healthy recovery, as in the construction site the workers are resting. FrankSickSick
