Good evening. Thank you very much. True story about so much to learn and I’m certainly learning as I go with this project. Been a tester no doubt. Cheers GrantWow, Grant! I regret that only now did I discover your build. I’m gobsmacked! Late as I am to the game, I plan to follow this one closely from here on. So much to learn…
Good evening Gunther. Thanks for the compliment. I buy my blocks and rope from Drydock models. The quality is first class. Cheers GrantHey Grant,
I'm really pleased that you've started work again. I'm just like you, I only build something and detail it if you can see it. Your tiller is amazing. I am simply fascinated by your construction method. You have my respect!
I have one quick question: where did you get these great blocks?
Best regards

Good evening everyone. Before I finish and install the rudder system the cannon ports need to be completed…..just because I will break the rudder while cutting.
Some more ports :

Of course my mind wonders and suddenly a ships stove is also under construction:

At some point everything will start to come together and WIP will become finished goods…..just not yet.
Cheers Grant

Handsome stove, Grant!
Your stove has a nice authentic look to it Grant.
So enjoy watching your build and hope to up my quality by learning from your build. Wow on the stove!
Thanks Paul,Peter,Daniel and Rebus. When I started the stove it looked like a fun part to build. It became rather finicky and the larger brass parts did not blacken very nicely. The brass also did not take my solder. I wanted a different look to what I got however it is still pretty cool. Cheers GrantA nicely detailed and blackened stove, Grant.
Regards, Peter

The stove is superb
Good evening Roger. Besides the stove my progress is a tad slow at the moment. Winter is here and I have been a little lazy with life at the moment…..not a bad thing. Cheers GrantAlways a pleasure to see your latest updates and progress Grant. Great stove!
Hello Gunther. I’m not sure we would have decent steaks coming off my stove…Hey Grant,
I know the digression thing only too well! Really lovely oven. Makes you want to cook. How about you cook and I bring the steaks? ...![]()
Best regards

Thanks Jim. The kit definitely provided the photo etched brass to make a decent stove - Kudos to CAF, but it turned out pretty difficult and fiddly to get reasonable. Cheers GrantThose photoetched parts really bring the resin to life, but hey, nothing magically assembles itself into such a fine-looking stove! That’s all down to your skill, patience, and a touch of magic from your workbench.
dear ThomasHello Grant,
greetings from Sweden. Here are some pictures because I thought about you.
Kind regards
Thomas
