There was a thread a couple of years ago which talked about this very unique ship. Dave (Lumberyard) talked about Weaselworks having plans or working on plans. Also recall something about Amati? possibly working on a kit. There were several people in that previous thread that talked about doing scratch builds. Has anyone seen anything further as I’m very interested and may possibly consider trying a scratch build, though bashing an existing model would probably be more to my capabilities. Trying to determine if there’s a 1/72 model kit that has similar hull and mast configuration that could be modified to create the 3 deck St Lawrence.

Cheers to everyone that I haven’t talked to in quite a while

I guess it was this thread, or?

Please ignore the first post in the topic - it was a mistake at this time

Did you research her proposed sister ships, Canada and Montreal? There is a lines drawing at the RMG Collections website of both of these Wolfe Class ships in scale 1:96. Their description: Plan showing the body plan, sheer lines with inboard detail and scroll figurehead, and longitudinal half-breadth for Canada (cancelled 1832) and Wolfe (cancelled 1831), both 110-gun First Rate, three-deckers, which were ordered in 1814, but later suspended in 1815. The ships were finally cancelled in 1832. These ships were similar to the Saint Lawrence (1814), but with an additional quarterdeck.

They also have a framing plan described as follows:
Scale: 1:96. Plan showing the framing profile (disposition) for Canada (cancelled 1832) and Wolfe (cancelled 1831), both 110-gun First Rate, three-deckers, which were ordered in 1814, but later suspended in 1815. The ships were finally cancelled in 1831 and 1832. These ships were similar to the Saint Lawrence (1814), but with an additional quarterdeck.

Hope this helps

the weasel works was a group of model builders now dead and gone. If i remember it was the Princess Charlotte and the Psyche the group was looking into.

there are two know models of the St Lawrence one is at the Hamilton Military Museum in Hamilton, Ontario and at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario.

as far s i know there are no kits of any of the British ships built on the lakes or modeling plans.

the St Lawrence i think holds the title of the largest wooden war ship ever built

because there are two models to use as references and the original admiralty plans available it would not be hard at all to produce a bulkhead hull.

i do not think building a POF hull would be practical

Dave

There is an HMS Ontario kit from Marisstella

Does anyone know anything about this kit? I like that she is a 22 gun ship from the 18th century, but I know nothing about Marisstella quality and accuracy. Sorry for going off topic.
Thanks
Allan

Based on John Andela’s design what is based on the divers information who found the wreck

I also scratch build her
