HMS Surprise 1801 1:72scale Shicheng Model [COMPLETED BUILD]

Of course in 1801 the Union Jack flag was added to the Irish flag I know But I have never been clear about the meaning of these three flags. If I follow the instructions on the Internet, there is no way to explain why some flags are hung behind the battleships. The battleships are neither merchant ships nor reserves.

I've never been very clear about the flag of the Royal Navy These flags are often seen on battleships in past paintingsView attachment 328952View attachment 328953View attachment 328954
Take the time and read the wikipedia information about the british ensigns

Your corvette Surprise was captured by the british HMS Inconstant from the french in 1796 (btw: your titel is correct with 1801?), renamed from the name Unite and Implemented into the british Navy under the new name HMS Surprise
so she had the White ensign

The red-bottomed flag seems to have been used in the 18th and 19th centuries on Navy ships that operated on their own. Sangiorgio's side seems to have been used in fleet operations

I have been particularly fascinated by Britain's first ironclad HMS Warrior 1860 wanted very much to make.View attachment 335922
and maybe also interesting this book

BTW: There are a lot of contemporary drawings existing at the NMM - I guess very interesting for such a build

也许这本书也很有趣

顺便说一句:NMM 有很多当代图纸——我想这样的建筑很有趣
