Went out last night with my brother for a curry and feeling a bit fragile today so after starting to do a bit this morning decided it wasn't a good idea.

Grant I gave up counting after 1190 clove hitch knots

Doing some research I found that the ships boats were cleared from the decks during call to arms and towed behind the ship, as my model depicts battle and the fact I don't want to use the ships boats as it will restrict the view of the main gun deck. This makes me feel better having decided not to build the ships boats.

This is a great topic because we see all kinds of presentations. Many people like to show the boats - and they can be really fun to make. But of course they can also get in the way visually if you put them on the weather deck.

On the Vasa I made a support boat and then put it in the case with the ship.

Good afternoon Brian. I personally like the boats. The Victory has 5 of them so they can spoil the look through to the upper gun deck and certainly won’t all be there in battle. Maybe just put the barge on? I like Paul’s idea as well. The nice thing is you have plenty of options to display. Cheers Grant

Had a couple of days off, the sun is shining in the UK (34 deg C) , but back to it now. Did the futtock shrouds today tomorrow back to the clove hitch

Made a start on the multitude of clove hitch knots.

Had another go at the clove hitch's after an hour my back gave up. doesn't help working half way up the mast
