HMS Victory- Caldercraft

I have put of the cannons rigging as I am making ropes and trying to figure out how to get them thru the small eyelets. Thinking about going to bigger size. About to finish beakhead by rigging the gun ports then on to forecasted cannonade. I'm not happy with the main companion way and will probably remake it.

I meant the quarterdeck screen assembly being painted when it shouldn't have been. Replacement hopefully coming soon.

Finished the cannons riggings, all the quarterdck assemblies as well as all the poop deck assemblies. Finished the entry ports and steps and finishing up the fenders and chesstrees. It's amazing how much sculpting needs to be done for some parts to fit where they're suppose to fit. Drilling holes in the small brass buckets without a drill press proved interesting at best. I will start working on the channels this weekend.

Made it another year today celebrating 78 years young.
Happy happy. Gotcha by a week as mine was the 25th. 1947 was a busy year in the maternity wards :) Baby BOOM!!
Congratulations gentleman. I’m still a baby(1965 ) and hopefully I too will be as energetic and strong in 18 years time. A very belated happy birthday.
Finished the channels, chainplates, rudder, waist deck stanchions and now rigging the forecastle hammock cranes. I bypassed the gunport assemblies until the end of the deck and hull additions are complete.

Lovely work. The Victory has a special place in my heart, being my first build, and I appreciate the difficulty of this project. Your progress is wonderful. Cheers Grant

Thanks Grant. Doing the best that I can do. My hands are growing more unsteady as I age which is a major problem with this ship due to all the detail work. Nevertheless, I proceed with enjoyment waiting to see what I will leave to my love ones. Would love to see your ship as well.

Finished the anchors and adding the brass rails. I'm currently waiting on additional paint purchase and attempting to trim the bowsprit which looks like a challenge. If anyone has any preferred ways to trim this mast, please respond. I purchased James Lees' The Masting And Rigging Of English Ships Of War 1625-1860 and appreciate the illustrations descriptions of each segment.

Finished the the brass rails and working on bowsprit assembly which looks like a challenge especially the large amount of threading thru the grate on forecastle. I had to remake the bowsprit cap from scrap 5mm due to it splitting during the angled hole drilling which wasn't a problem since I saved much of the trim sheets. I will be back on the Bowsprit tomorrow. There are some issues that I will partake before I start the rigging process and may even redo a couple soon.
