HMS Victory- Caldercraft

Finished the sheets and braces and working on the boat lifts off the poop deck. Pretty good challenge but finished in a couple of days. Will be sewing the hammock netting before starting the installation of the 4-5 boats. More pics and videos to come. My ship could be much better but I'm happy with my efforts not having done this level before.

I think your work is great!

Any chance you can post some closeup pictures of how your yards are attached to the various masts?
I understand the plans and instructions and my books have been a tremendous help, but having someone else's work to plagiarize would be great!

Just curious to see how you worked all of the various blocks and how they look!

Chris, I'm not sure if I interpreted what I read to be what I did but here are a couple pics. Kind of hard to tell from these pics. I used Longbridge for much of the rigging as the included instructions are vague at times such as those for the quarter davits. I'm working on the anchor installations today and finished the first Bowers anchor. Some of these pics are rotated and don't know how to make them portrait. Hope this helps in some way.

Sometime my pictures seem to load up sideways.
I have to go into my folder (I move all my pics from my camera to my laptop) and edit them, all I do is resave them and they right themselves.
I'm sure there is a better way, but that's what I do!

Oh....it's nice to see I'm not the only one who has spaghetti wraps on my line spools! Try as I might, it's been a losing battle!

If you see an image in your post that is on its side or up side down, just go down after you post it and click at the bottom of the post on "Attachment editor".
There you see the images and you can turn them left or right 90 degrees or complete 180 degrees.
Do not forget to "submit".
After that go to the top and click return to post.

This may not be the least bit important to you but FWIW some of the blocks are upside down so the line is running against the tail instead of over the would-be sheave and under the crown.

Unfortunately my keel for the Cutter boat broke in 2 places. If I can repair and complete the installation and sew in the hammock netting I will have finished my ship. I have contacted a glass company to build a display cases for it to j keep the cats and dog from their mischief. It's not museum quality but I knew my limits due to neuropathy in my hands and I am satisfied with the results. I enjoyed building this ship and it's challenges. Hopefully I will be able to visit the 'real' ship someday. Thanks to everyone who who helped with information and tips along the way especially Allen. Not sure yet what my next adventure will be as I have much to do on my farm. Also, if anyone has information on an aftermarket base I would appreciate the URL.

Well done, super congrats!

For the base, while not ready made, maybe you would like a faux burl finish. They look great and not expensive to make. The outer edge in the photo below is just cheap molding painted black as the main board is birch ply. The cradles happen to be Swiss pear but any wood should work, or go with some aftermarket dolphins or something similar.
