Hope

Good day to all of you.

Today, after 3 weeks of living in utter stress, I had my appointment with the internist /hematology-specialist.

She does not think I have Kahler disease and is of the opinion that our family doctor should not have been so strict in giving me the diagnosis of either Kahler or Waldenstroem disease.

Additional blood analysis will be made and i will get the results in 2 weeks time from her.

She was almost certain it will be Mgus, a kind of preliminary stage to a possible lymph nodes disease, which should be treatable but it could take years to develop or even stay dormant.

You can not believe how relieved we were after this news. 2 weeks to go before we have certainty but it feels I have regained my life.

I want again to express my thanks for your support that helped me through this period! And certainly for your prayers;
it seems now I have been awarded more than I could have hoped for.

Appreciate every day you live. I wish you all the best and a happy healthy life for you and your beloved ones.

These are very good news and I cross all fingers and toes, that the second opinion is a correct one.
Also one more a proof, that with serious health problems you should consultate not only one doctor......
Very good news my friend

Hello Herman
This is great news
I wish you the best

Hello to you all

I can share some good news with you. Today I got the confirmation from my internist that she was right on her first diagnosis. MGUS (IgM-type) it is and no Kahler-disease. Besides the M-proteins and too high IgM content the blood analysis showed no further deviations and therefore Kahler disease could be ruled out she told me.
As she already examined my lymph nodes 2 weeks ago and found no swellings at that time she waives further examinations for now. I will have to let my blood checked every 3 months and if M-Protein and ImG levels stay on this level then the intervals can be stretched up to a year. If levels rise the lymph node disease might be on the way, but on the other hand, that might never happen.
So in the context of the earlier diagnosis I am now much relieved to have "only" MGUS.

My internist told me to stop worrying and she would inform and explain her diagnosis with my family doctor to prevent others to be sent home with the same disturbing statement that has disrupted my life and the lives of my beloved ones for the last few weeks.

I thank you all for reading, for supporting, praying and wishing me the best.

Let's all take one Beer on a happy healthy life.
Stay well and have a fine weekend.

Also wishing you the best. Sounds a lot like Multiple Myeloma. I am not familiar with Kahler's. Or maybe just a plasmacytoma? I went through that in 2012 with chemo and radiation. So far so good huh? I return to the oncologist for blood work on Sept 14th to see how I am doing, so I can certainly sympathize with your situation. Its good to hear you're doing OK! Hang in there!

Thank you Phil.
My family doctor sent me home with the diagnosis Kahler, a form of Multiple Myeloma. So we were very relieved with the diagnosis MGUS. In itself not something to be happy about as it too might be a harbinger for a type of lymph node cancer, but it is not certain it will come to that and if so, it would be better treatable than Kahler disease. So far so good.
Sorry to hear about you situation, let's keep our fingers crossed and pray you too get favorable results.
