Funny stuff here, almost a whole build session about losing stuff. I have lost stuff my whole life, but I still have stuff! Not my stuff though, other people's stuff. What the stuff is this? Lost my needle nose pliers, again, again, again. Why do I accumulate stuff?

Lost my glasses, now what?

"There was many a time when we would observe, when my Gramma couldn't find her glasses, "Gramma,"(who lived with us when I was growing up in the 50s)" they're on top of your head!" ;)

There must be. Whenever I drop a small part (like an eyebolt or deadeye) it simply disappears. The gremlin grabs it and takes it who knows where. He usually returns the part anywhere from a few hours to a few days later, sometimes longer. Then he places it in a spot I KNOW I had thoroughly searched before. I can almost hear him laughing at my puzzled expression and cuss words.
Have you ever been vacuuming a carpet and you find a paper clip stuck in the carpet? And the clip does not cooperate with the vacuum? Then you reach down and pull the paper clip from the carpet. You look at it and toss it back onto the carpet. Then you proceed to the vacuum again. I wish I could provide the sound of the paper clip trying to survive the vacuum!

Back to ships...of ...Scale...

I have two PS planks and two SB planks on my ship. Progress, I guess. When I get to the waste and Garboard strake I will need some advice.

I have hardwood floors... oak stained to a dark walnut colour. So when my gremlins get active, I have to go all CSI in a darkened room with a flashlight. I find that if I get low and shine the light nearly parallel to the floor it makes little objects pop right out. Well, sort of... the item is still usually resting someplace that neither gravity nor my recollection of the drop area would indicate as being correct. lol
I think we all share the pain.
My theory is that if you drop something the accelerating object sends out gravity waves that loosen and broaden the grid of the space time. Small objects will then simply fall through.
Somewhere a creature is scratching one of its heads after again stepping on a small, round item with three holes that seems to be made of an organic material, wondering if it might be the droppings of this 10 legged critter he saw earlier in his humble abode.

Is that a pet or just one of the features that came with the house?

Growing up in Hawaii, it was impossible to keep geckos out of the house. Maybe because it was impossible to keep cockroaches out…
you are supposed to leave geckos in the house. my wife didn't agree until she saw my little friend eating a cockroach.

It’s funny, I always say I have Gremlins! I have a part sitting on my work table…seconds later I look down and it’s gone! I get on my hands and knees and comb the carpet…nothing! I get out my small vac and put a sock on the end of the attachment and vacuum the carpet all around and under my table. Sometimes I find it…often not! As a last resort I clear off my entire work bench to see if it got bumped or accidentally moved under something. There are times when I never find the part. It vanishes in thin air! And a Gremlin is laughing! He is messing with me! And where do all of our lost parts go?

Yup, been there, still there and doing that. I'm thinking that the parts are falling through an invisble hole in the 2nd floor and piling up in the ceiling of the first floor. Going to be a big blister in the first floor ceiling some day.:eek:

They probably grabbed on to your sleeve or arm hairs and then surreptitiously dropped off in a totally different part of the house. They're sneaky that way.
You know some of those 1/72 scale aircraft parts are so small, that they could even stick to my hand or arm and I wouldn’t know. Going to start checking my clothes and shoes, etc. ;)
