Remember the old Lego Pirate ship? I built it for my son maybe 30 yrs ago and had difficulty with the stern. So what else is new...can't recall how I managed it

While on the topic of Lego I couldn't resist a YouTube search and I was amazed at all the Pirate ships released over the years. I had to share this Victory build by a 13 yo...incredible!

Been a good little bit since I have been able to work on the independence. But I was able to fishing the decking on 2nd main deck and is glued in place. Now to let set.

Now that the 2nd main deck is on and in place, I drilled out all the holes for the trennells. Made a makeshift draw plate by drilling a .6mm hole in to my xacto blade. Fits perfectly in the .5mm holes I drilled in the deck.

Finaly finished with the 2nd main deck. Got all the trennulls in, stained, and polyurethane is on. Still have the 1st main deck to complete. ‍‍‍

More decking going on. Got one of the hatches framed out and got the wall planked with African walnut.

Yeah its been about a week or so since I was able to sit down at the work table.

But I am thinking very hard about painting it.

Finaly I am done with all the nails. Even put some at the mast base, why just for shits and giggles I guess. Soaked the bulwarks for about 15 mins and have them drying around a can so I can mount tomorrow.

Independence by Artesania Latina. These bulwarks have been so frustrating. If I had hair I would have pulled it out by now. Got both mounted then had to pull them back off because I forgot to Plank the inside of the bulwarks. ended up get one finished and stained and in place and called it quits for tonight before I end up throwing it against the wall.


Granted there are some things I like about this kit and then there are some I dont.
Things i dont like is that the directions and pictures are piss poor they could have done a better job.
Things I do like is that everything other than the framing is all solid wood that is a big plus.

Very true. The directions are the worst so far. Now as far as materials they are the best. I love how its solid African walnut wood instead of plywood

Working on the planking nothing exciting. And I want to say I HATE and I mean HATE with a passion doing planking. I would much rather rigging than doing this stage of the build.
