Kingfisher 1770 1:48 POF [COMPLETED BUILD]

What a fantastic presentation of a ships display base, perhaps one of the finest I have seen Paul!
Thanks, Daniel. The base is quite simple for its complexity (that is: it was easy to make) and I think it fits with the finished/unfinished nature of the model pretty well. I've done worse work...

Thanks to everyone who posted to this forum, shared likes, or just followed along. I had a blast sharing my work with you on the SOS forum and interacting with so many friends during the course of this build. All the best to you on your own projects. I can't wait to see what you will share with us next!

The Kingfisher takes the place of pride until something better comes along:

Soo this is really the end:rolleyes:. Congratulations once again, it was a great pleasure to follow your work. I have no doubt next one will be even more magnificent.
Time just flies. Have a break my friend totally deserved it

PS I found small mistake, but maybe it's in diorama's designROTF
Let me guess...you wanted to see all 225 meters of anchor rope ROTF...

Photos are straight godlike!!! In the photo it seems larger, but indoors it is not so big.. although maybe this is due to the fact that the room itself is not small))) In a word, it's just amazing!!

WOW! What makes this model shine is the craftsmanship itself. You don’t need professional photography to see how beautifully it's been built. The precision, the colors, the structure — it all speaks for itself. Even in a simple photo, the model’s elegance and the builder’s skill come through loud and clear. A true testament to what passion and dedication can achieve! She is truly stunning, and to think it’s only his second build makes it all the more impressive. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and overall presentation speak volumes. It's a fantastic example of what dedication can achieve, and a real joy to admire.

Paul,

Currently away from home at a friend’s small holiday home out in the Gulf doing an odd job which no-one else wanted to undertake for less than three mortgages. This batch or crib (holiday home) has a 72 inch smart TV. So supported with a coffee percolator I viewed this entire build, start to completion projected onto this massive TV via my Laptop. I don’t have the luxury of words to describe the past couple of hours but am reminded of what my Australian neighbour back home would say or critique.

“Geez mate, she’s a little beauty worth having a decent Barbi (BBQ) a few cold ones (Beers) and celebrations like you Blxxdy Kiwis do when yor All Blacks kick the s??? outa our Waratahs or them Springboks. A real perfect stunna mate – betcha this guy could improve building Noah’s Ark, ---- ya want another tinnie?”

Magnificent build Paul. Congratulation on the completion and thanks for the picked up tuitions. Perfection be thy Name. Cheers.

Thanks, Sergey! Indeed, the model is quite small though I guess that only comes across when it appears in an understandable context. As you can see it is about the width of a couch cushion. My habit of taking macro photos has perhaps distorted everyone's perception. Of course, I did not intend to mislead...

Once the background light goes away (windows) maybe I can get a better picture of its new home (at least until my wife sees where I put it :)).

Holy smokes, Jim, are you and I looking at the same model ROTF?

In truth I don't even know how to respond. Well, maybe I'll try... Nope. I have nothing to say but my humblest thanks.

I need more people from Australia and New Zealand in my life ROTF.

The cigar is lit, a patio sipper is in hand, and I might even open a special occasion bottle once the grandkids leave if the Mrs. will join me (that's tentative as I'm presently in the doghouse ).

As I mentioned, I’ve been working on a passage while waiting for the professional photos to be ready, though they seem to be taking their sweet time. So for now, here’s what I’ve managed to put together in their absence. ;)

What Jim said.
I got to see a lot of fine Admiralty and other fine models over my tenure as a volunteer model shipwright at the USNA museum.
Yours would fit right in! The carving and decorative details are exceptional. The icing on the cake! The presentation is perfect.
A privilege to be along for the ride. Okay First Place Metal:D
