LA CREOLE 1:48 BY MATIZ

Ciao Tiziano,
Grazie,
Allan

Hi, Allan, how are you? I hope you're well. When you get back to Italy, we need to meet up. I'll bring Euryalus with me.
:)

I would love to meet again and have a nice lunch and see Euryalus. I get to buy lunch this time!!! It may be a while before we are in Italy again as Ireland for fun and Scotland for golf are the next trips to Europe. HOPEFULLY we will be back to Italy in the next couple years. I really want to visit with you and some friends in Florence as it has been too long since we last met. We still love this photo of you and me!!!

Hi Tiziano
Your La Creole is gorgeous! It is hard to tell from the photos, but are the strakes already on the model the wales? If they are, do they taper in thickness near the bow so the seat in the rabbet the same as the adjacent planking like on English ships?

Ciao

Allan

Allan I am not finding anything in my French plans that indicates the wales are thinned. Quite the opposite, in fact. On Bonhomme Richard the front section of the bow planking above the wales seems doubled up so that it is all the thickness of the wales from the stem until just aft of the catheads.

I was at work when I posted that, so I thought I would follow up with some screen grabs.

And I would just like to be clear, I am not trying to one up you, Allan, or even pretend I am an expert in anything. This is just what I saw in one set of ANCRE drawings.
