1/48,1/721) What is the scale?
2) Is this for your own scratch build or a kit design?
Beautiful!
Thanks.
This one is for my, but I plan to make others for some kind of simplified kit

Which Blender addons do you recommend for ship design?

Extra Curve objects is handy., but generaly speaking there's no addon for ship modeling. It just depends how well you know program and what you lack. When you get to that point you'll know what you needWhich Blender addons do you recommend for ship design?
Thanks!
Let me know the moment the kit is ready. My level of skill is full-bulkhead only which makes the CAF full-rib model kit unhelpful. I hope you could do the kit in 1:64 instead of 1:72 because of the higher level of detail possible without creating too huge of a model. TYVM1/48,1/72

Someone has already asked a similar question. Not much has changed in the answer. You need to work with the programme and browse through guides to see which functions seem to make your work easier, but this is an individual matter.@WojtasS, thanks for your post. you mentioned the following in your first post:
I had to really squise potential from Blender and made a loft of hull in one program without any other CAD software. It turns out with enough addons blender
has enough CAD-like functions to properly loft a hull.
Would it be possible to know which Blender's addons you find essential? a thousand thanks.

No problem. It's more like there is couple of ways to solve problems and neither is wrong@WojtasS, so sorry... I just did not see the question. I must be getting blind with age. ;_)
I'm not sure I missed something; La Comete? I thought her sister ship is La Sirenne. I want to build La Renommee, but I fear doing the carvings. However, I would proceed with a build if I could buy resin carvings at 1/48.Hello
Some couple of month passed since I last posted something. I've been busy with finishing rest of decorations of La Renommée.
Now I can finally show my results. Since this is a 3d-printable model it will take some time to test print and fit everything together.
The reason it took so much time is I needed also a compatible hull even for a stern section only. I made some prototypes for testing, but results weren't satisfying enough.

Now I have a dilema wether should I make another 3d-print stern model or should I complete at least hull. I miss working with wood, but on other side is bringing back to life
beatiful ships existing only on drawings.

Lofting a hull is not enough now I needed to finish it somehow. I didn't want to have entire hull 3d printed-too long printing time and I have only resin printer.
I managed to design something in between, hybrid of sort. Lower body benteeth 1st deck is laser cut plywood, upper is 3d print with all the fancy curves of ship already established

Other dilema I have if I decide to go with the hull. Should I make La Renommée or her sister ship La Comete

Hi. I might be wrong calling La Comete siter ship. Mr Boudriot in his book "The History Of The French Frigate 1650-1850" calls them very similar in compostion of design as the sculptures are work of C.P Caffieri. La Comete was build in Brest in 1752. Mr Boudriot also show design of other 8pdr frigates 1753 Licorne andI'm not sure I missed something; La Comete? I thought her sister ship is La Sirenne. I want to build La Renommee, but I fear doing the carvings. However, I would proceed with a build if I could buy resin carvings at 1/48.
