Le Coureur

Good morning everyone,

since I don't have the time to work on La Palme or Le Rochefort at the moment, I decided to continue working on Le Coureur. There will be a little update every now and then, at the moment I'm busy making the gun carriages.

This is the first attempt, I have to redo the gun carriages because the grain of the wood doesn't match.

Oh, no! Pesky grain, anyway!

Hello Adi @pianoforte , yes, it's nice to get back to basics. I don't want to say it's a stopgap, but it should be finished at some point.

Hi Tony @Tony P , thank you. Well, it's not easy, but as long as you can separate everything, it's doable. Le Coureur should also be finished one day and at the moment I don't have too much time, I'm renovating the lower floor of the house. So it makes sense to do little things every now and then.

Hi Uwe @Uwek , yes the little runner has been waiting so long and the plan after Evian was to work on it again.

Hi Vic @Vfordyce , yes the cannon, I've been putting it off for a long time. I hope they will only be half as good as Adi's.

Not an update, the gun carriage, this time I paid attention to the wood grain. One or the other will ask why I don't use the ones from the kit, well I want to practice it because at some point these are to be made on La Palme.

Here you can see the difference very well (wood grain)

The recesses for the axles are only pre-milled and will be precisely adjusted later as the side parts are slightly conical.

In the next step I will build various jigs to drill the mounts and later for assembly.

Here are two more pictures from my construction site, making slots for the electrics, installing new sub-wiring for the electrics.

Impressive pictures, Tobias. From the little gun carriages and the big room!

I think I would have just painted those little carriages red.

Dear Heinrich @Heinrich , I can still hear the calling and I told you at the beginning of the year that I would continue in November. Sorry that it is now December. ROTF ;)

@GrantTyler @AnobiumPunctatum @Peter Voogt Thank you very much dear friends for your great interest and everyone who diligently left likes.

Good evening everyone,
the last few days have been very busy on the construction site, the walls of the "new bathroom" have all been torn down, the bedroom is finished except for the paint and a new floor.

Today I had some time to spend in the shipyard and actually managed to make the first gun carriage. As I already mentioned, I made myself a few tools to make the assembly easier and I found that it worked quite well. After the first test on deck, I didn't like the whole thing, so I decided to increase the diameter of the front wheels from 6.75mm to 7.3mm. Now it fits better and I can continue with the next gun carriages.

I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but the next few days are quiet. I wish everyone a peaceful holiday and a Merry Christmas.

Still a lot to do, Tobias. Both to your model and to your house.
